About The Position

The Bike Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, tracking, organization, and daily operational readiness of all bike fleet equipment supporting Suncadia Recreation programs. This position supports Inn & Lodge guests, Suncadia & Tumble Creek Club members, their families and guests through safe, high-quality bike rentals, guided rides, and curated cycling experiences. The Bike Mechanic must professionally support daily operations of the Recreation Pavilion bike program, including fleet maintenance, inventory tracking, repair systems, and occasional leadership of guided bike tours. This role works collaboratively with the Recreation Manager and Recreation Leads to support elevated outdoor programming and the continued development of signature cycling experiences. This is a Seasonal position with targeted start and end dates: Season Start: 5/1/2026 Season End: 9/7/2026 Hours will fluctuate as business levels rise and fall throughout the season. Requirements

  • Previous bike maintenance experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Background or experience in cycling or outdoor recreation preferred.
  • Ability to confidently ride and safely lead small group rides.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to create and maintain tracking systems.
  • Guest service or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbal and written.
  • Basic math skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize tasks independently.
  • Energetic self-starter with strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work outside in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Available to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the daily mechanical integrity and safety of the Suncadia bike fleet, including mountain bikes, cruisers, and e-bikes.
  • Perform daily inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs to ensure fleet readiness.
  • Develop and maintain organized systems for tracking bike locations, repair status, preventative maintenance schedules, and overall fleet condition.
  • Ensure accurate tracking of bikes across rentals, tours, storage areas, and maintenance rotation.
  • Manage daily bike rental operations including staging, cleaning, tuning, and preparing equipment for guest use.
  • Assist guests with proper bike fittings and adjustments to ensure safety and comfort.
  • Become knowledgeable of Suncadia trails and the greater Cle Elum/Roslyn trail systems, including terrain, elevation, ride progression, and seasonal conditions.
  • Provide trail recommendations based on guest ability level and desired experience.
  • Lead guided bike tours and curated cycling experiences as assigned, maintaining a high level of safety and guest engagement.
  • Support the development and implementation of elevated and signature bike programming.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, waivers, and rental documentation.
  • Track parts inventory and coordinate ordering with Recreation leadership.
  • Responsible for keeping up on maintenance and appearance of all bike equipment and storage areas.
  • Institute safety regulations and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Promote teamwork and coordinate daily with Recreation staff and other departments.
  • Attend weekly, monthly, or quarterly team meetings.
  • Comply with all Suncadia policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Comply with Suncadia grooming and uniform policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
