About The Position

The Bilingual Staff Trainer is a full-time position responsible for developing and designing conventional and e-learning curriculum with a focus on compliance with specific program governance and/or federal, state regulations. The Bilingual Staff Trainer assists in on-boarding facilitation and continuing education functions, in-classroom training, curriculum revitalization and special projects. This position also serves as a Learning Management Systems (LMS) administrator, entering employee training data, processing reports and evaluating overall training quality and effectiveness. The Bilingual Staff Trainer is a grant position funded by the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) and any successor funding.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree preferred in Instructional Design, Workforce Education or related field OR Bachelor's degree in any other field with 3 years experience in workforce education
  • Minimum 2 years of social services and/or mental/behavioral health industry experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Learning & Development or in related Training positions
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating a variety of topics and all levels of organization
  • Experience managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English)
  • Strong proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite and/or standard curriculum design software applications
  • Proficient with technology and developing technology-based solutions
  • Strong knowledge of training processes and procedures
  • Creative ability, writing proficiency, and visual graphics design ability
  • Strong public speaker with good facilitation skills and a high energy level
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal direction
  • Working knowledge of learning management systems
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Understanding of internal client relationships in a decentralized environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles, various training methods, and web delivery tools (video, podcasts, webinars)
  • Required to frequently sit, stand, bend, stoop and walk, sometimes for extended periods.
  • Required to occasionally lift/ move objects weighing in excess of 40 pounds.
  • Must have visual, hearing, and learning capabilities sufficient to perform the essential functions defined above.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and facilitate the implementation of training as required by the ORR for programs working with unaccompanied children.
  • Supports Maryvilles Pre-Service Training for employees working with UC, as well as ORR-specific on-boarding training processes
  • Assess training effectiveness by using pre/post-test measures and surveys, examine various records and reports, recommend modifications to training as appropriate
  • Evaluate training progress and training procedures to monitor and analyze course effectiveness and update curriculum as needed
  • Coordinate with program leadership to address emerging training needs
  • Effectively deliver training in a class setting or distance learning
  • Tracks training achieved by each employee in ORR-sponsored programs
  • Attends a minimum of 40 hours advanced training/workshops on an annual basis
