Requirements

  • Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office.
  • High school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Knowledge of oral surgery and/or dental terminology.
  • Knowledge of CDT, CPT, ICD-10, modifiers, and coding practices.
  • Minimum of 2 years of billing/insurance experience in a dental or medical practice is required, and oral surgery experience is a plus!
  • Prior posting insurance payments, understanding EOBs/write offs, navigating insurance portals, and working AR reports is required for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Audit schedules and correct billing details to ensure accurate charges and claim readiness.
  • Submit and track insurance claims, including required documentation.
  • Post and reconcile insurance payments (EFT/mail) accurately and consistently.
  • Resolve denials, rejections, and delayed payments through follow-up with carriers.
  • Manage accounts receivable and patient balances, including statements, refunds, and collections support.
