About The Position

Northland Community and Technical College seeks a full-time Biology Instructor for the Thief River Falls campus dedicated to excellence in teaching, who desires to become part of a creative, vibrant, student-centered learning community.

Requirements

  • Master's degree with a major in biology or a Master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in biology.
  • Must submit CV or resume, and unofficial transcripts.
  • Applicants that do not submit the required application materials (CV/Resume and Official Transcripts) will not be considered.
  • In accordance with the Minnesota State’s Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to MinnState’s vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
  • The successful candidate under U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations must be able to accept work in the U.S. by the day employment begins.

  • Experience working within higher education guidelines and policies
  • Minimum of two years of teaching experience
  • Formal coursework in teaching pedagogies, including principles and methods of student evaluation
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations
  • Knowledge of instructional methods, student assessment, and evaluation practices
  • Experience with curriculum development, assessment, and the effective integration of instructional technologies
  • Familiarity with online learning platforms and digital tools to support student engagement and success
  • Academic background in Biology, Biochemistry, or Biomathematics
  • Dual major in Biology and Mathematics or Chemistry, or a major in Biology with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Mathematics or Chemistry
  • Ability to integrate interdisciplinary approaches into instruction, especially in STEM-related fields
