Summary: This position is responsible for maintaining biomedical equipment and imaging machines in the hospital. The ideal candidate will be an expert-level technician in multiple modalities. This role is considered a leader on the team and may have supervisory responsibilities. This role will play a supporting role to the manager or director.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience as a biomedical technician and 2 years of experience as an Imaging Engineer
  • Knowledge of electromechanical devices and principles, as well as a thorough understanding of general patient care equipment and can demonstrate the usage of supported devices
  • Understanding of life-support and diagnostic support devices and their usage within the healthcare setting
  • Proficient with multiple devices / modalities (ex. Patient Monitoring) and is an expert on the topic
  • Requirement: need to pass a background check and drug screening
  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent required
  • Technical Certificate or DOD training required

  • Maintains a safe working environment for self and others they come in contact within the biomed area in accordance with the facility’s policies.
  • Must follow OSHA guidelines in regard to blood borne pathogens, airborne pathogens, radiation, sharp instruments and/or tools, hazardous liquids, and operating devices.
  • On-time completion of safety training assignments
  • This role must be able to speak, hear, see, read, write, type, dial, reach, bend, climb, crawl, crouch, kneel, squat, and twist.
  • Must have near vision, far vision, depth perception, and be able to distinguish colors.
  • Must have sensory ability to distinguish hot, cold, range of temperatures, surfaces, fine motor skills, manual dexterity, and detect/distinguish odors.
  • Must be able to carry or lift up to 50 pounds routinely.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, repair, and maintain patient care equipment according to their specifications
  • Manage the facility’s scheduled maintenance program
  • Document all activities in Renovo’s proprietary system (RenovoLive)
  • Maintain departmental performance standards and goals
  • Support cost containment under the direction of a supervisor or manager
  • Provide mentoring and training to BMETs and apprentices
  • Adhere to KPI targets related to task execution and support the team in achieving KPIs consistently
  • Comply with Renovo and hospital policies
  • General troubleshooting and electrical/mechanical repairs
  • Leverage all standard test equipment for installations, calibrations, and planned maintenance: Multimeter Invasive and non-invasive X ray meter Oscilloscope Service software and keys Dosimeter Hand and power tools AC line analyzer Phantoms
  • Read, analyze, interpret and follow signal flow on blueprints, schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Maintain OEM equipment (for example: Siemens, Philips, GE, Canon, etc.) and record all work performed in Renovo’s CMMS.
  • Responsible for preventative maintenance and repairs to any of the following: CT, MRI, X-Ray, C-arms, Fluoroscopy, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned under the leadership of a Renovo manager or supervisor
