The Biomedical Technician I works within the Clinical Engineering Department to support activities related to the service and management of the medical equipment. This position may perform activities, such as data entry and analysis within the medical equipment database, compiling and submitting various reports, direct communication with vendors and customers, and performing basic technical service activities. For all tasks, there will be an emphasis on high quality and contribution to the department's efforts toward cost-effective management of the medical equipment. The Biomedical Technician I may work within any assigned area(s) of Franciscan Health and at other locations supported by the Clinical Engineering Department, under the guidance of Biomedical Equipment Technicians or Clinical Engineers, as directed by Clinical Engineering management. Establish and implement plan for collecting data on new technology. Review pre-purchase evaluation. Install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and perform modifications on diagnostic and therapeutic medical electrical.
