Position Overview The Biorepository Analyst is dedicated to maximizing the value of sample and participant clinical study data in support of research and development (R&D) activities ranging from proof-of-concept experiments to clinical validation studies. The Biorepository Analyst will be responsible for building and maintenance of data ingestion pipelines, maintenance and enhancement of data quality workflows, communication of available data and insights to stakeholders, reporting and workflow automation, and for supporting growth into future areas of service.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, Computer Science, or field as outlined in the essential duties and 2 years of relevant experience as outlined in the essential duties; or Associate’s degree in Biological Sciences, Computer Sciences, or field as outlined in the essential duties and 4 years of relevant experience as outlined in the essential duties; or High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 6 years of relevant experience as outlined in the essential duties.
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience working with clinical sample and clinical participant data.
  • Strong Excel and Excel VBA/Macro skills, with an aptitude for learning other analytic tools.
  • Proficient with SQL.
  • Proficient with Python, Scala, or similar object-oriented, general-purpose language.
  • Proficient with Tableau Desktop or Tableau Server.
  • Proficient computer skills to include internet navigation and email usage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a laboratory or biorepository setting handling clinical and/or sample data.
  • Previous experience with RDBSM’s and JMP or similar statistical software.
  • Previous experience automating repeatable tasks.
  • Previous experience with Jupyter notebooks, Databricks, or similar.

Responsibilities

  • Manage biospecimen-associated data throughout the specimen life cycle, including, but not limited to, maintaining accurate and precise data linkages across a variety of source systems, identifying and diagnosing the source of data discrepancies, and ensuring that recorded data remains understandable and useful until sample depletion.
  • Assist in the design and maintenance of relational database management systems (RDBSMs) and enterprise database management systems for capture, storage, and retrieval of sample and participant clinical data.
  • Participate in the development of derived and synthesized data for the purposes of sample identification and retrieval for Biorepository customers.
  • Develop and implement quality control measures to systematically identify data discrepancies among linked systems and compiled data sources, progressing from manual to automated solutions.
  • Work with other team members to perform tasks related to data processing, quality control, and data analysis.
  • Pull, analyze, compile, and visualize large datasets for reporting to internal stakeholders and project teams.
  • Facilitate sample requests from R&D and other partners in support of future product development.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation and timely delivery of datasets, with contextual analysis, when facilitating these requests.
  • Coordinate with product development teams to report on current biorepository inventory with respect to ongoing development work.
  • Develop and implement automated and/or self-service reporting pipelines to improve access to and understanding of Biorepository data among R&D and other partners.
  • Identify, propose solutions to, and act upon process improvement opportunities.
  • Incorporate partner feedback to improve and refine the biorepository customer service model.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with teams and external clients, which may include acting as an intermediary between product development teams and IT support teams.
  • Communicate issues and/or risks to key stakeholders.
  • Attend and participate in cross-functional team meetings, as needed.
