About The Position

When you join the growing BILH team, you're not just taking a job, you’re making a difference in people’s lives. Analyst for a variety of projects and data management activities in support of research in the Chen Lab. Projects include supervised and unsupervised analysis of omics data (e.g., metabolomics, proteomics, genomics) in association with various health measures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required in Statistics, Computer Science or Public Health; Master's degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years related work experience required.
  • Proficient in running SAS statistical analysis procedures required.
  • Understanding of statistical concepts and SAS procedures; familiarity with epidemiological and quality assurance principles.
  • Prior research experience required.
  • Must be able to create analytic files by merging multiple, large databases; formatting; recording; and sub setting data to meet the analysis goals.
  • Must be able to create tables and figures that accurately reflect the results of the analysis.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access and other web-based applications. May produce complex documents, perform analysis and maintain databases.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with SUDAAN and STATA preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Implements bioinformatic pipelines for the analysis of high throughput data, including metabolomics, proteomics, and genome sequencing data (essential)
  • Using R and/or Python and other relevant statistical software, organize and perform quality control of omics datasets and relevant phenotypes. (essential)
  • Designs, implements, and performs data management and quality control procedures as necessary for routine and special projects. (essential)
  • Assists in the design, development, and maintenance of databases, repositories, and resources. (essential)
  • Keeps analysis logs, creates explanatory files (e.g. README files), and follows best practice for the repeatability of analyses (essential)
  • Create tables and figures that accurately reflect the results of the analysis. (essential)
  • Serve as a resource and help answer programming questions for other group members. (essential)
