The Birth Registrar at Franciscan Health conducts phone and bedside interviews with parents of newborns in a professional manner, to obtain accurate demographic information. The position files birth certificates with the state Bureau of Vital Statistics within five days of birth via the TER web-based software. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT Interview patients and families to obtain registration information; enter correct data, including patient name, gender, and date of birth, ensuring to avoid duplication of an existing medical record at the time of registration and pre-registration. Maintain a privacy file with documentation, in compliance with the state and Steward policies. Provide information to parents about birth recording process and application for social security number and welfare benefits. Assists with completion of paternity affidavits. Hours: 5pm - 5:30am (12 hour shifts) with every third weekend/holiday.
