About The Position

360 Talent Avenue has partnered with a leading industrial food manufacturing facility to hire a Boiler Operator – Utility Operations in Bakersfield,CA. This is a direct-hire, permanent position with our client, supporting a 24/7 production environment. Schedule: 12-hour day shifts (6:00 AM – 6:00 PM) Sunday–Wednesday or Wednesday–Saturday The Boiler Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of industrial utility systems, ensuring continuous support for manufacturing operations.

Requirements

  • 2–3+ years of experience in boiler operations, power plant operations, or industrial utilities
  • Required certifications within 1 year of employment: California Boiler Operator License, California Water Distribution Operator Certification – D1, California Wastewater Treatment Operator Certification – Grade I
  • Experience operating high-pressure steam boilers in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Experience with compressed air systems, cooling towers, and water treatment
  • Familiarity with SCADA, automated control systems, and utility monitoring platforms
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Ability to work independently on 12-hour shifts in a 24/7 facility

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor high-pressure industrial boiler systems to maintain continuous steam production
  • Perform boiler startups, shutdowns, load changes, and emergency response procedures
  • Monitor combustion efficiency, fuel usage, oxygen levels, steam pressure, and temperature
  • Manage feedwater, condensate, deaerators, and boiler chemical treatment programs
  • Conduct routine water chemistry testing, blowdown operations, and chemical feed adjustments
  • Operate and optimize compressed air systems, including compressors, dryers, and dew point control
  • Operate and maintain cooling tower systems, circulation pumps, and cooling water chemistry
  • Monitor systems through SCADA and automated control platforms, responding to alarms and abnormal conditions
  • Complete hourly inspections, logs, and shift turnover documentation
  • Support water treatment and wastewater operations through cross-training and backup coverage
  • Perform minor maintenance tasks and coordinate with maintenance teams for repairs
  • Maintain compliance with ASME Boiler Code, state regulations, and facility safety standards
  • Follow all safety programs including lockout/tagout, confined space, and PPE requirements
