About The Position

MalaceHR is seeking a skilled Operating Engineer / Boiler Technician to support facility operations through preventative and corrective maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who is comfortable working across multiple trades and supporting overall building operations. Key Responsibilities Maintenance & Operations Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems Clean HVAC coils and replace filters and belts Maintain and repair plumbing systems including toilets, sinks, drains, water heaters, and piping Assist with boiler operations and maintenance (certification preferred) Support electricians, plumbers, and mechanics with various tasks as needed Facility & General Maintenance Repair and maintain doors, locks, closers, and building fixtures Perform interior and exterior building maintenance including painting and minor repairs Conduct inspections of walls, flooring, roofing systems, and lighting Complete general handyman duties and tenant service requests Work Order & System Management Prioritize and complete preventative maintenance (PMs) and work orders (daily, weekly, monthly, annual) Update work orders in real-time using CMMS systems (e.g., Maximo) Maintain compliance documentation for fire extinguishers and building systems Escalate issues to management and client in a timely manner Qualifications Required High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum 1 year of experience in maintenance (carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or related fields) Experience using hand and power tools Basic computer skills (MS Office, Outlook, CMMS systems) Preferred Certified Boiler Technician (highly preferred) EPA Universal Certification Building Automation Systems (BAS) experience Preventative maintenance experience on HVAC systems Mechanical and/or electrical background Candidate Profile Willing to work outside of primary scope to support team needs Hands-on and mechanically inclined Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Team-oriented with a flexible, “jump-in where needed” attitude

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum 1 year of experience in maintenance (carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or related fields)
Experience using hand and power tools
Basic computer skills (MS Office, Outlook, CMMS systems)

Nice To Haves

Certified Boiler Technician (highly preferred)
EPA Universal Certification
Building Automation Systems (BAS) experience
Preventative maintenance experience on HVAC systems
Mechanical and/or electrical background
Willing to work outside of primary scope to support team needs
Hands-on and mechanically inclined
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Team-oriented with a flexible, “jump-in where needed” attitude
