About The Position

The Bookkeeping Manager is tasked with maintaining accurate financial records, processing daily accounting transactions, and ensuring the company's financial data is complete, organized, and up to date. This role supports management by providing reliable financial information and assisting with basic financial reporting and compliance.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles beyond AP and AR.
  • Experience with job costing and work in progress (WIP).
  • Strong teamwork skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience in the construction industry.
  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role.
  • Experience managing or overseeing a small team of 2-3 people.
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as Foundation and ComputerEase.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential financial information.
  • Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Manage AP invoices, payments, and expense reports.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and oversee reconciliation of credit card statements.
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of entries.
  • Prepare customer invoices and follow up on outstanding balances.
  • Oversee payroll and coordinate payroll submissions.
  • Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Prepare basic financial reports such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Support accountants and management during audits or tax preparation.
