About The Position

The Border / Zipper Sewer plays a critical role in producing high-quality upholstered furniture by sewing borders, cushions, and zipper components to specification. This role requires attention to detail, consistency, and craftsmanship to ensure each piece meets Design Foundry’s quality standards. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, works efficiently, and contributes positively to a team environment.

Requirements

Previous sewing experience preferred (industrial sewing a plus)
Ability to read and follow work instructions
Strong attention to detail
Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Dependable attendance and punctuality

Responsibilities

Sew borders, panels, and zipper components according to product specifications and work orders
Operate industrial sewing machines safely and efficiently
Ensure proper alignment, seam strength, and zipper functionality
Inspect materials and finished pieces for quality and accuracy
Maintain consistent stitch quality and seam allowances
Match patterns and fabrics when required
Meet daily production goals without compromising quality
Identify and communicate material defects or sewing issues
Maintain a clean and organized workstation
Follow all safety, quality, and production procedures
Support cross-training and assist in other sewing functions as needed
