About The Position

Genie Academy is a math, english, coding enrichment program serving families across New Jersey. We help K-12 students build real academic skills -- not shortcuts -- and we've earned a strong reputation in the communities we serve by delivering measurable outcomes for kids. We're growing, and we're looking for a driven, people-first leader to own our South Brunswick location. This is a teaching + management hybrid role . You'll split your time between leading enrichment classes for students and running the day-to-day operations of the branch -- managing staff, converting enrollments, and building a high-performing team culture.

Requirements

  • Strong math, Reading, Writing, ELA skills
  • 2+ years of team management experience in a service, education, or retail setting
  • Excellent communication skills -- direct with staff, warm and professional with families
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable using software (training provided)
  • Must be based in or near South Brunswick; this is a fully on-site role

Nice To Haves

  • Experience at Kumon, Mathnasium, Sylvan, or a similar enrichment or tutoring program
  • Background in a customer-facing role involving children (childcare, youth sports, camps, retail)
  • Experience in a sales- or enrollment-driven environment
  • Familiarity with NJ communities and demographics

Responsibilities

  • Deliver abacus math, math, reading, writing, and coding enrichment classes to K-8 students
  • Track student progress and communicate regularly with parents
  • Maintain lesson quality and a structured learning environment
  • Oversee daily opening/closing, scheduling, and administrative workflows
  • Manage enrollment paperwork, attendance, and tuition collection
  • Ensure the center is clean, organized, and brand-consistent at all times
  • Serve as the primary on-site contact for parents and families
  • Hire, train, and manage coaches and front-desk staff
  • Conduct weekly team check-ins and deliver direct, constructive feedback
  • Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement
  • Convert walk-ins, inquiries, and leads into enrolled students
  • Schedule and conduct student assessments
  • Monitor retention and proactively identify and address churn risks
  • Maintain CRM records and coordinate with the central sales team
