About The Position

Job Summary: As a Cook , you will play a key role in crafting flavorful, balanced meals that support the health and happiness of our residents. Working closely with our Dining Services team, you’ll prepare a variety of meals to meet resident preferences, dietary restrictions, and high standards for quality, safety, and presentation. This role requires a commitment to providing consistent, exceptional dining experiences for residents and guests. We are currently hiring for an 6am - 2pm shift, full-time.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Prior cooking experience in a restaurant, senior living, healthcare, or hospitality setting preferred.
  • Strong understanding of food safety practices.
  • ServSafe Certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of dietary restrictions and specialized diets.
  • Ability to follow recipes and instruction.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Great communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Dependable with strong time management and multitasking skills.
  • Compassionate, patient, and respectful attitude towards residents and coworkers.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks in a hot kitchen environment.
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Ability to safety lift and carry up to 50 lbs., including hot and heavy dishware.
  • Ability to navigate kitchen areas safely, which can include frequent walking, bending, stretching, squatting, and twisting.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and present meals according to community recipes and following various dietary restrictions and requests.
  • Ensure high standards of taste, texture, temperature, and presentation of every dish.
  • Collaborate with the dining team to plan and execute daily menus, special events, and holiday meals.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Assist in receiving and inspecting food deliveries and managing inventory.
  • Build positive relationships with residents through excellent service and professionalism to enhance their dining experience.
  • Monitor inventory and assist in ordering supplies as necessary.
  • Contribute to a collaborative and respectful kitchen culture that values quality and consistency.
