Requirements

  • Experience in US Customs Brokerage (preferred)
  • Hands-on knowledge of Customs clearance functions.
  • Ability to complete work within standard procedures, guidelines and office policies.
  • Commitment to Exemplify our culture at all times.
  • Customer Satisfaction oriented.
  • Attention to detail oriented.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, ability to communicate at all levels written and oral communication and presentations.
  • Able to develop and maintain a professional relationship with clients, service providers and employees.
  • Self-driven personality.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Good computer skills, and ability to learn new programs and tools including knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Flexible schedule.
  • English and Spanish fluency.

  • Degree (preferred): Bachelor's degree in Import/Export, International Trade or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively monitor key metrics to achieve expected results.
  • Complete required training programs and certifications.
  • Ensure timely execution and data management in accordance with District Excellence standards.
  • Maintain trade compliance and action Census requirements within specified timeframes.
  • Proactively communicate with carriers and interested parties regarding In-bond transactions.
  • Exemplify and teach company culture, mission, and goals.
  • Adhere to the Code of Business Conduct and company policies.
  • Contribute to building healthy cross-functional relationships and promote team spirit.
  • Communicate proactively with supervisors about training, support, or tools needed.
  • Prepare and execute personal development plans.

  • Provide timely notification to customers of potential delays.
  • Respond to internal and external customer requests accurately and timely.
  • Understand and follow Border Brokerage Operational Process Standards.

  • Maintain compliance on Customs entries, In-bonds, and FTZ admissions.
  • Ensure customer expectations are met and documented in SOPs.
  • Participate in product trainings and stay current with regulations.
  • Ensure files are logged correctly and timely with proper codes, trace types, and events.
  • Address exceptions and shipment holds timely.
  • Properly use all Expeditor systems and tools.
  • Report system failures to supervisors.
  • Report opportunities for automation.
  • Participate in team, department, and branch meetings.
  • Ensure emails are handled timely and professionally.
  • Ensure customer's legal documents are updated prior to entry processing.
  • Contribute to operational effectiveness and comply with District Excellence metrics.
  • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or accidents to the Branch Health and Safety representative.
  • Understand and follow credit policy.
  • Timely and correctly bill all processed entries and update CFIT notes.
  • Understand accounting processes and reports and its impact.
  • Monitor and work on preventing monetary losses.
