About The Position

The Silver Lake Regional School District is seeking a Budget Analyst to join the business team on July 1, 2026. Essential Duties And Responsibilities: Assists with developing, reviewing, implementing, monitoring, and reporting on the annual budget. Assists with the preparation of the annual audit work papers and End of Year Reports. Prepares, monitors, and records all lease agreements and payments. Provides monthly analysis of the annual budget comparing actual to projected revenues and expenditure and prepares variance analysis as required. Analyzes current accounting data and program information to ensure compliance with governmental laws and regulations. Maintains Fixed Assets Inventory including entering additions and retirements, processing depreciation and conducts an annual fixed asset audit. Acts as contract manager for the districts including maintaining Prevailing Wage Rate documentation and procurement files. Assists in year-end closing of financial records and audit schedules. Conducts research and prepares reports on special projects as needed. Desired Minimum Qualifications: Education and Experience: College-level coursework in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. Bachelor’s degree preferred or Associates Degree with two (2) years experience. Experience should be progressive responsibilities in governmental accounting procedures and financial analysis or professional financial/accounting experience or any related equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and/or experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of governmental accounting methods, maintenance of fiscal records and established procedures in a public agency. Considerable computer knowledge with Excel, Word, Google Products, and knowledge of or ability to learn mainframe accounting packages, such as School ERP Pro. Excellent analytical, written and verbal skills. Working knowledge of audits. Ability to organize and schedule multiple projects and meet deadlines. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and other employees. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Evaluation: Annual evaluation conducted by the Director of Finance and Operations in accordance with district policies. This is full time, benefits eligible position with a salary of $50,000 - $70,000 is commensurate with experience and education.
