About The Position

The Budget Analyst, under the general direction of the Budget Director of Academic Affairs and with guidance from the college Deans and Associate Deans, provides advanced-level financial and administrative expertise and leadership to support multiple colleges and/or a significant program area within Academic Affairs, and their leadership in strategic financial planning and decision-making. This position functions independently with a high degree of judgment and accountability to ensure effective budget administration, financial management, and policy compliance. The incumbent is expected to independently analyze complex budgetary issues, make strategic recommendations, and lead special projects to enhance the colleges' fiscal and operational efficiency. The analyst will also oversee assigned time, ensuring accuracy and compliance with budget allocations and university policies, as well as manage position control for part-time faculty contracts.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of financial and budgetary principles, including forecasting, financial modeling, and position control.
  • Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices relating to personnel administration, fiscal management, and cash-flow management.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial data and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to lead teams and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Effectively prioritize and organize tasks and projects including handling multiple priorities.
  • Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting, business administration, finance or a closely related field and four years of related professional experience.
  • Additional experience which demonstrates acquired and successfully applied knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
  • An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
