Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field and/or equivalent work experience in distribution/accounting/inventory.
  • Possess the ability to analyze, interpret and report financial/inventory data.
  • Must be multi-tasked, detail oriented, with the ability to delegate duties to subordinates.
  • Possess supervisory skills and ability to work with and through others to achieve desired results.
  • Possess good communication skills, both verbal and written.  Deal effectively with a wide variety of people both in person and over the telephone.
  • Solid computer skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews changes to the inventory for damage, spoilage, vendor returns, department and pack changes, and continuity returns with the Controller and Accounting Manager.
  • Schedules and coordinates all physical inventories, cycle counts and special item counts.  Prepares physical inventory recaps on a timely basis for distribution to management. Reviews and develops inventory control procedures as appropriate.  Reviews and resolves all internal shrink problems in coordination with Warehouse Operations.
  • Maintains record retention program in compliance with corporate guidelines and policies.
  • Works with Procurement staff to resolve excess inventory problems.  Monitors store pickups and salvage programs.
  • Interfaces with Warehouse and Accounts Payable staff to resolve warehouse receiving issues.
  • Ensures completion of all shipping/receiving audits on-site and in retail stores as required.
  • Monitors Accuracy Control function in conjunction with Warehouse Operations.
  • Reviews Budgetary needs on staffing with reference to head count and overtime
  • Direct and control daily inventory control operation for Perishable, Grocery, and external 3PL operations 
  • Mentors direct report supervisors
  • Oversee of ordering of warehouse supplies using Oracle (i.e. shrink wrap, labels, banana bags)
  • Assigns associates to jobs; instruct them in proper performance of work.
  • Ensures adherence to policies by all associates.
  • Maintains formal and informal channels of upward communications.
  • Requires the analytical ability to handle administrative duties and mental alertness to ensure accurate, safe, and thorough completion of work activities. Possess ability to concentrate and deal with frequent interruptions.
