About The Position

The Building Maintenance Engineer has a strong focus on operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility equipment on all systems. To successfully complete daily/weekly work assignments, the Building Maintenance Engineer is expected to demonstrate technical expertise in HVAC or electrical, and demonstrate strong technical knowledge in plumbing, piping systems, generators, and other related trades.

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 years of documented work experience in the HVAC or Electrical trade, or minimum 4 years documented work experience in the HVAC or Electrical trade and 2 years of supporting education.
  • High school diploma or state equivalent
  • Completion of a minimum one-year Trade school training or associate degree in a relevant field.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to perform all work using the proper personnel protective equipment (PPE).

Nice To Haves

  • R 410-A Refrigerant safety certifications.
  • E.P.A. 608 Universal License

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate the facility in accordance with all applicable government and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrate and enforce safety rules and behaviors.
  • Identify, enforce, and assess safety hazards and risks.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs to the mechanical, electrical, lighting, plumbing, structural, furniture, control, and fire-life safety systems to keep building systems up to applicable standards.
  • Maintain HVAC systems and equipment at optimum levels (e.g., cleaning, inspecting, changing parts). Where necessary, record readings and adjust to ensure proper operation of equipment.
  • Comply with departmental policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Comply with all company safety rules including but not limited to: Lock Out Tag Out, NEC70e, OSHA 10, etc.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
  • Respond to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist site Facility Management team with emergency situations (e.g., fire alarms, after-hours calls, hazardous conditions) and take appropriate actions.
  • Be available for any on-call requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
