About The Position

Power Solutions International (PSI) is a leading manufacturer of emissions-certified powertrains specializing in customized and fully integrated turnkey solutions for the leading global equipment manufacturers in the industrial, transportation, and energy markets manufacturers. Our facilities are housed in one million square feet of engineering, assembly, operations, and distribution space across seven facilities. Summary: Reporting to the CTO (Engineering) Business Analyst (BA) will provide support to the engineering organization for assessing engineering organizational effectiveness in delivery on budget, program, and projects. This role will act as a stock analyst feeding data to the engineering and sales team on the effectiveness of long- and short-term investment of time, material, and dollars. The BA will support CTO with a steady flow of data and reports for assessment of engineering performance of the strategic goals defined by the executive team and NBI process. Business analyst will also support Both engineering and accounting teams to ensure transparency and timely flow of financial date needed to support budget, Capex development, and financial reporting tasks. BA will also back stop engineering buying process when buyers are out of the office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, in one of the business areas listed below, may substitute for the degree direct applicable work experience on a year-for-year basis which built competencies and subject matter expertise.
  • Strong business process knowledge in at least one of the following areas: Financial/Accounting, Distribution (Procurement, Sales Order Management, Inventory), Manufacturing, OR Engineering
  • Experience with EPICOR modules (versions 10.0 or above) for a multiple site configuration setup including understanding of EPICOR integration methodology and ability to understand and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Ability to develop reports using Power BI
  • Willingness to travel between Illinois locations (all Chicago area) regularly and to other US locations needed to understand business needs, support the end users, introduce new functionality, and train users.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining and reporting on all aspects of engineering budget.
  • Communicate between engineering and finance to ensure transparency for all budget processes.
  • Support engineering leadership to develop and improve new reporting for making better decisions in areas of budget and timeline performance of groups, capital investments, and programs.
  • Collect, aggregate, and report key top-level metrics to bring transparency to progress on all approved NBI projects and programs. This is an aggregation and report design role not a PM role in chasing individuals for input.
  • Provide long-term historic reports on investments made through NBI process NBI approval team.
  • Validation of NBI assumptions against long term performance of investment to improve business decisions.
  • Provide metrics to assess performance of the ECO process.
  • Oversee support roles in engineering. (i.e., buyers and material handlers)
  • Continuously monitor and suggest improvement for processes, reports, and metrics under defined purview.
  • Support yearly Research tax credit program.
  • Support receipt and budgeting for NRE collected by engineering.
  • Provide support and training for all system systems and reporting under purview identified above.
  • All other duties as assigned by engineering management.
