About The Position

Are you passionate about technology and eager to gain real-world experience in business application development? SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking a motivated Business Application Analyst Intern to join our team and support the enhancement of our Power Platform productivity solutions over the summer of 2026. As an intern at SWCA, you will benefit from dedicated mentorship, hands-on training, and exposure to industry best practices. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals who are committed to helping you grow, guiding you through the planning, designing, building, and documenting of innovative business applications. You’ll have the opportunity to build relationships with professionals across the company, participate in knowledge-sharing sessions, and receive guidance to help you launch your career. This internship will occur during summer 2026 (approximately early June to Mid August). Earlier start dates or later end dates will be considered on a case-by-case basis and are encouraged. This is a paid, 40-hour per week, internship paying $19.00 per hour. This position can be based anywhere in the USA and can be worked either in a hybrid fashion from an SWCA office or be fully remote. Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field. Completed at least their Junior year.
  • Individuals who completed a bachelor’s degree within 12 months of May 1, 2026, will also be considered.
  • Applicants that are pursuing a master’s degree will also be considered. Ph.D. candidates are not eligible through this program.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to evaluate data, identify patterns and propose actionable insights
  • High-level understanding of relational databases and data modeling.
  • Skill in documenting processes and solutions to aid product owners and ensure effective maintenance.
  • Ability to extend Power Platform functionality by connecting to external systems or products
  • Foundational knowledge of the software development lifecycle and project management principles

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Power Platform tools (Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint) is a plus; willingness to learn is essential.
  • Active pursuit or earned relevant certifications is a plus, such as Microsoft Certified Power Platform Fundamentals (PL-900), or similar.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with SWCA staff to understand business needs and translate them into technology solutions.
  • Participate in requirements gathering and documentation for new productivity applications.
  • Assist with the design, build, and testing of Power Platform solutions (Power Apps, Power Automate).
  • Contribute to a highly collaborative team environment and adapt to evolving technology needs.
  • Engage in regular mentorship sessions and receive feedback from experienced team members, fostering your professional and technical development.
  • Gain in-depth experience with the Microsoft 365 Power Platform and the software development lifecycle.
  • Demonstrate curiosity, willingness to learn, and a commitment to personal growth.
