Rutgers University-Newark (RU-N), an urban public research university and anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise is seeking an Business Assistant I in the Center for Molecular and Behavioral Neuroscience ( CMBN ), School of Arts and Sciences-Newark. Reporting to the Business Specialist, this Business Assistant I performs a variety of budgeting and accounting activities for CMBN ; supports grants from proposal through close out; and assists with managing day-to-day administrative operations. This position is responsible for and not limited to the following: Assists with maintenance review, monitoring, and management of budget and accounts transactions. Works with faculty Principal Investigators (PIs) to develop competitive proposals, including budget development and document preparation. Prepares and review budget reports and grant balances monthly and ensures accounts are reconciled. Coordinates award management activities from establishment to closeout. Supports day-to-day operations for the Center, through a variety of administrative activities.
