About The Position

The Emergency Preparedness Business Continuity Planning Coordinator will report to the Manager of Emergency Preparedness and be involved with the business continuity duties as directed to support the system Facilities Business Continuity Program. This includes the management of the utility outage/interruption plans, downtime procedures, training programs for downtime, and equipment management to support response activities. Lead multi-departmental teams, develop, and deliver presentations across all critical business functions. Additionally, this role will support the overall Emergency Preparedness and Business Continuity programs by collaborating and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to provide alignment and facilitate the development and advancement of our planning, policies, and procedures aimed at safeguarding our healthcare system.

Requirements

  • Minimum one year of experience in planning development in support of emergency management and/or business continuity
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, Emergency Management, or related field
  • Completion of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) courses: IS-235: Emergency Planning, ICS-100: Introduction to the Incident Command System, ICS-200: ICS for Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents, ICS-700: National Incident Management System, An Introduction, ICS-800: National Response Framework, An Introduction
  • Completion of FEMA courses within 12 months of hire: ICS 300: Intermediate ICS for Expanding Incidents, G 191: Incident Command System/Emergency Operations Center (ICS/EOC) Interface, ICS 400: Advanced ICS-Complex Incidents
  • Completion of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Continuity Series Level I Practitioner program within 24 months of hire
  • Valid Georgia driver's license and insurable driving record
  • Completion of the Disaster Recovery Institute’s Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) certification within 24 months of hire
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), NFPA (National Fire Protection Association), TJC (The Joint Commission) or DNV Accreditation, and CMS (Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services) guidelines
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of emergency management/business continuity plans, policies, and procedures
  • Leading facilitation and planning with cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes project management principles to collaborate with leadership, faculty, and staff to implement projects.
  • Works with leadership from all aspects of healthcare, research, and education programs to support and develop an effective Business Continuity and Recovery Program.
  • Builds operational relationships across the organization to secure support for the Business Continuity and Recovery Program.
  • Build rapport and cooperation; possess strong interpersonal and indirect influencing skills, with a demonstrated ability to gain the confidence of individuals at various organizational levels.
  • Ensures systemwide compliance with Joint Commission/DNV, Center for Medicaid and Medicare Services, and NFPA 1600 standards and regulations for healthcare business continuity.
  • Leads business continuity planning projects across multiple departments to support systemwide preparedness.
  • Serves as an advisor for incident requiring activation of systemwide, campus, or department business continuity plans.
  • Maintains response equipment in a constant state of readiness to ensure rapid support during business interruptions.
