About The Position

CGI has an immediate need for a Business Data Modeler to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced team environment supporting one of the largest customers. We take an innovative approach to supporting our client, working side-by-side in an agile environment using emerging technologies. We partner with 15 of the top 20 banks globally, and our top 10 banking clients have worked with us for an average of 26 years! . This role is located at a client site in Reston, VA. A hybrid working model is acceptable. We are seeking a detail-oriented Business Data Modeler to support enterprise data initiatives and analytics programs. In this role, you will capture and document data modeling requirements, design logical and physical data models, and ensure alignment with business and technical objectives. You will collaborate closely with development and testing teams, serving as a key point of contact throughout Agile delivery cycles. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in relational and dimensional data modeling, a solid understanding of data warehousing principles, and hands-on expertise with industry-standard modeling tools. This position requires strong communication skills, the ability to translate business needs into technical data structures, and comfort working in fast-paced, collaborative environments.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience and strong understanding of data modeling concepts and data warehousing principles
  • Hands-on experience with ER Studio (required)
  • Proven experience in relational and dimensional data modeling
  • Ability to gather, capture, and document detailed data requirements
  • Experience supporting Agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, stand-ups, backlog grooming)
  • Comfortable serving as a point of contact between business, development, and QA teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and Word
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Management, or a related field
