# Business Development Manager, Infrared Products

A significant opportunity to be a key partner in the growth of L-3 Cincinnati
Electronics. We are seeking highly qualified candidates with existing Navy
Surface and/or Air program and requirements development offices and
acquisition process familiarity to apply for the role of Business Development
Manager for Situational Awareness Infrared Products (IRP). The successful
candidate will be an energetic self-starter and a proven performer who can
achieve results with limited supervision. This role reports to the Director of
Business Development for IR Products.





As the Business Development Manager, your key responsibilities will be:



* Create and capture EO/IR situational awareness opportunities for the IR Products Strategic Business Unit (SBU) with focus on Naval Surface and Air applications
* Meet annual new business awards/bookings goals
* Generate and maintain an orders pipeline and booking forecasts for Situational Awareness EO/IR Products
* Build relationships with prime contractor and government EO/IR customer communities and maintain a high level of customer intimacy within these communities.
* Influence and effectively shape customer requirements within the following constituencies: political, prime contractor customer, and partners/suppliers.
* Develop and submit an annual B & P and Marketing Support budget aligned with Naval Surface and Air opportunities being held accountable for managing to approved allocation.
* Contribute to the development of the Internal Research and Development (IRAD) plan, ensuring alignment with opportunities.
* Contribute to the development of a detailed annual operating plan for the business development department.
* Establish and maintain customer communications, marketing and branding material and related collateral including advertising campaigns, publicity releases and promotional activities for the IR Products SBU.
* Drive input and coordinate and all aspects of IRP tradeshow and conferences with Communications personnel.
* Lead proposal activities with market intelligence and drive Price to Win strategy.
* Be an active contributor within strategy, pursuit & capture teams in order to execute the vision and strategy, and, meet the goals and objectives of the business.
* Influence and motivate performance within the matrix staff of the IR Products SBU.
* Travel to customers regularly (min 40% travel on annual basis).

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field. MBA or Masters preferred
* Must have knowledge of the Thermal Imaging Naval Surface and/or Air marketplace with prime and end customers to include requirements and mission needs.
* Minimum of 10 years in Defense Industry (DoD) Business Development experience, with a proven track record of winning major programs.
* Minimum of 5 years in or associated with Thermal Imaging including focal plane arrays, cameras and end user systems and subsystems
* Prior military or civilian DoD experience preferred.
* Demonstrated success developing and executing short and long term business plans and strategies designed to assure timely orders resulting in company growth.
* Must have experience and understanding of forecasting, investment strategy, standard estimating and budgeting practices, capture planning and proposal development.
* Working knowledge of the DoD procurement processes, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARs) and International Traffic and Arms Regulations (ITAR) is required.
* U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance required.
