The Business Development Manager – New Client Growth is responsible for expanding KDC’s client base by developing new relationships and creating opportunities with organizations that value a high-quality construction and/or Service & Maintenance partner. This role emphasizes consultative, relationship-led business development while maintaining clear accountability for growth outcomes. Success comes from credibility, consistency, and the ability to turn relationships into real opportunities. This is not a transactional sales role, but it is a performance role. Requirements

  • 5+ years in business development
  • Construction/facilities direct sales, or similar experience, preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to create new business opportunities
  • Comfortable navigating long-cycle sales environments

Responsibilities

  • New Client Development Identify and engage organizations aligned with KDC’s target clients and verticals.
  • Establish relationships with brand, real estate, development, construction, and facilities leaders.
  • Understand client goals, timelines, and priorities.
  • Position KDC where there is a strong strategic fit.
  • Opportunity Advancement Help shape opportunities early to improve alignment and win probability.
  • Coordinate introductions to preconstruction and operations teams.
  • Support proposals, interviews, and presentations.
  • Maintain momentum on active pursuits.
  • Market Engagement Maintain visibility in relevant industry circles.
  • Participate in associations and events.
  • Track expansion trends and client movement.
  • Provide market feedback to leadership.
  • Pipeline & Communication Discipline Maintain accurate pipeline visibility in CRM.
  • Provide regular updates on opportunity progress.
  • Manage follow-ups and next steps consistently.
  • Treat pipeline development as a core responsibility.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
