About The Position

The Business Intelligence analyst works with subject matter experts across the company to advance information delivery platforms and transform data into meaningful business insights by identifying opportunities, gathering requirements, conducting data analysis, and developing deliverables using modern and traditional reporting and business intelligence solutions.

Requirements

  • 6 years of professional experience required
  • 4 years in business intelligence development including combination of dashboards, data models and warehouses, ETL processes, and API integrations
  • 3 years in an analytics role with strong analysis, problem solving and solution development ability
  • Strong MS Power BI platform development (models, dataflows, power query, reports and dashboards in online service and desktop client, etc.)
  • Strong database integration and scripting in MS SQL including views, stored procedures, scheduled jobs
  • Strong user of MS Excel for data analysis and integration
  • Business report development in MS SQL Reports, or similar business reporting platform
  • Production of thorough systems and support documentation

Nice To Haves

  • MS Dynamics Business Central or similar ERP system data integration
  • Industry experience in distribution business model
  • Industry experience in pharmaceuticals distribution business model
  • Development of systems and API integrations, using code-level or low-code programming
  • Experience with other data integration and business intelligence platforms, such as Tableau, MS SSIS and Analysis Services
  • Participation in process and systems improvement initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Manage the reporting and business intelligence platforms used by the company
  • Learn and understand the company’s business models, operational functions, and decision-making processes
  • Learn and understand the data architecture of all company information systems
  • Gather requirements from business leaders, conduct data analysis, develop data definitions and solutions specifications, and present findings and insights
  • Develop and manage data sources, data models, structures, and integrations used for business intelligence and reporting
  • Develop ETL and API based data integrations to retrieve and transform data sets
  • Develop and manage information dashboards and reports using enterprise BI and reporting platforms
  • Develop and manage business reports using enterprise reporting and end-user productivity tools
  • Assist leaders with development of management information & KPIs to transform data into meaningful business insights
  • Analyze and maintain data quality and integrity used in the reporting and business intelligence deliverables
  • Stay current on BI technology, tools, best practices and advancements and recommend enhancements to BI tools, data models, and analytics capabilities
  • Evaluate and improve existing business intelligence capabilities
  • Develop comprehensive systems and support documentation
  • Adhere to data governance, security and privacy standards
  • Mentor other staff in the technologies and solutions when required
  • Use help desk system and change management processes to document and track work activities, and respond to day-to-day support issues
  • Support needs outside primary job role based on available skills and company needs
