About The Position

The Business Operations Senior Financial Analyst serves as a strategic financial partner to Service Line and Institute leadership, providing comprehensive analytical support that informs program development, operational decision-making, and long-term planning. This role plays a critical part in evaluating and advancing clinical, operational, and strategic initiatives by developing detailed business cases, performing financial assessments, and creating proformas that clearly outline expected volumes, costs, reimbursements, staffing impacts, and overall financial performance. The analyst helps leaders understand the financial implications of new services, expansions, technology investments, care redesign efforts, and other operational or strategic changes, ensuring that decisions are grounded in solid data and realistic assumptions. The position ensures that service lines have accurate, data driven information to evaluate opportunities, understand risks, and make informed decisions that advance growth and patient care objectives. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Health Administration, Finance, Business, and/or other related field.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in financial, accounting, or decision support roles within a healthcare or similarly complex environment, including hands-on experience developing financial models, conducting economic and operational analyses, interpreting service line financial activity, and supporting strategic service line planning.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of financial models and proformas to support service line business cases, capital requests, and strategic initiatives.
  • Use data platforms to extract, transform and analyze financial data to support Service Line leaders.
  • Analyze service line performance data to identify trends in volumes, acuity, payor mix, LOS, and contribution margin.
  • Support creation of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting packages for Service Line leadership.
  • Translate financial data into recommendations that support prioritization, resource allocation and business planning.
  • Support development and execution of annual service line budgeting including gathering inputs and aligning budget targets.
  • Design and maintain reporting tools that provide actionable insights to Service Line leaders.
  • Collaborate with clinical leaders to model impacts of care redesign, operational changes, or patient flow initiatives.
  • Lead ad-hoc analyses to assess emerging service line opportunities, physician needs, and market trends.
  • Collaborate with Service Line teams to connect operational outcomes with financial performance.
