About The Position

The NC Department of Military & Veterans Affairs / Military Affairs Division is tasked with 23 specific functions that involve working with federal, state, local, regional, and industry partners to support activities at North Carolina military installations and improve economic outcomes and the quality of life for our military and veteran communities. The NC Department of Military & Veterans Affairs / Veterans Affairs Division, in accordance with Chapter 143, General Statues of North Carolina – assists Veterans, their families, and their dependents in obtaining or maintaining privileges, rights, and benefits to which they are entitled under Federal State or Local laws. Supervise and manage a cemetery staff of six or more State Employees and work study employees, inmate labor from the Department of Corrections as well as offenders assigned community service. Monitor and ensure operating budget is properly maintained and expenditures are justified. Counsel and assist veterans and/or their families in applying for burial benefits at a state veteran’s cemetery. Assist applicants in obtaining needed military documents from federal sources which will determine eligibility for veteran’s benefits. Supervise, manage and perform a variety of administrative tasks necessary to verify eligibility for burial, schedule and conduct burials, as well as receive federally provided benefits for the agency, the veteran or eligibility dependent. Manage and supervise the grounds staff in burial operations, grounds maintenance, facilities maintenance and equipment maintenance. Perform public relations activities related to the state veteran's cemetery program. The North Carolina Department of Military & Veterans Affairs is seeing applicants for a Business Services Coordinator II at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery location in Fort Bragg, NC. The Business Services Coordinator II plays a vital role in supporting the administrative and operational functions of State Veterans Cemetery. This position provides essential coordination and support to ensure efficient service delivery to our veteran and military community. Supervise and manage cemetery staff of State and temporary employees, as well as other volunteers and offenders assigned community service. Monitors and ensures the operating budget is properly managed and all expenditures are justified. Requirements

  • High school of General Educational Development (GED) diploma and five years of related administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
