Business Analyst - Accounting $63,273- $78.447 minimum starting pay Job Level: Individual Contributor Shelter maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in geographic location, education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands. Please remember that this range is the starting base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. What You Will Be Doing: Analyze and documens current department processes and procedures and initiate any process improvement changes with management approval. Review and research system related problems and potential improvements and work closely with business partners, Information Services, and vendors to seek resolution. Serve as a department team lead and liaison for projects involving new software systems and business process changes. May create user stories to guide system development and conduct user acceptance testing if appropriate. Provide analysis and recommendations on the implementation of new processes and procedures. Communicate system and business process changes to other departmental personnel and provide necessary training. Test and implement approved changes to the Workday Financials system configuration, develop custom reports, and dashboards. Requirements

  • Understanding of basic accounting transactions.
  • Completion of a four (4) year college degree and/or successful completion of some industry course work preferred.
  • Requires department-related experience and detailed knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, operations, and philosophies, as well as business rules, regulations, and applicable state laws.
  • Excellent prioritization skills to assess project impact and potential impacts toward key objectives.
  • Superior data analysis skills, investigative, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Access, and other tools to analyze data in order to identify trends and make recommendations.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, maintain schedules to meet deadlines, and work well within a team environment.
  • Superior interpersonal skills to effectively function in lead roles, train others on system and/or procedures, and conduct meetings.
  • Ability to perform essential functions of the job, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
