About The Position

This role ensures the organization has internal ownership of critical software, integrations, and automation that support core business operations across manufacturing, finance, engineering, and customer-facing systems. The Business Systems Engineer designs and maintains scalable, reliable integrations between enterprise systems, reduces dependency on manual processes and point solutions, and preserves essential business logic as systems evolve—enabling operational continuity, data integrity, and long-term technology sustainability.

  • Experience in enterprise integrations; SQL skills for analysis, reconciliation, and data validation; experience supporting business-critical production systems; exposure to manufacturing industry preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in ERP implementation or migration preferred.
  • API-based integrations (REST), data modeling and transformation, backend development (e.g., C#, Python, Java), authentication and security concepts, cloud or hybrid environments (Azure/AWS), and experience analyzing and replacing legacy batch or ETL integrations.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain system-to-system integrations across ERP, CRM, manufacturing, engineering, analytics, and web platforms including supporting the company’s ERP.
  • Analyze existing legacy integrations and automation (including SQL-based logic and batch workflows) to understand and preserve required business rules as systems are modernized.
  • Partner with IT and business stakeholders to transition custom logic from legacy tools into modern, supported integration patterns.
  • Develop APIs, services, and data pipelines that enable reliable data exchange and reduce batch-based dependencies.
  • Maintain and optimize SQL queries and data structures used for reporting, reconciliation, and operational processes.
  • Own internally developed applications and automation, ensuring stability, documentation, and supportability.
  • Translate operational workflows into durable, maintainable software solutions that reflect how the business actually runs.
  • Reduce manual processes and operational risk through automation and integration.
  • Provide production support and root-cause analysis for integration or application issues.
  • Document system architecture, integration flows, and business logic to ensure continuity and knowledge retention with focus on ERP related integrations impacted by migration.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify architecture and retire redundant tools or processes.
  • Support ad-hoc development and automation initiatives as business needs evolve.
