About The Position

The Business Unit Controller is a key position in the TrueAero Group organization and a member of the leadership team. The controller assists the Vice President of Finance by leading all accounting and financial functions within the group. The position leads a team of accounting and finance professionals and their functions, including, but not limited to, the preparation and management of multiple entities’ financial statements and the financial planning, analysis, and reporting of past performance and forecasted results. The Business Unit Controller acts as a trusted partner to the business unit leaders, working side-by-side to support the operation by providing creative solutions and financial insights towards growth and profitability. It requires that one be a self-starter, able to work as part of a team, and willing to assist with all day-to-day operations inherent to a rapidly growing organization.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's or master’s degree and at least ten years’ experience in a related role.
  • Strong communication, consultation, and relationship management skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced work environment
  • Advanced skill level with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)

Nice To Haves

  • Prior aviation industry experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation and work directly with executive management to report on company-wide financials.
  • Oversee and support all accounting functions and employees under his/her leadership.
  • Prepare and manage weekly cash forecasts and approve check runs for multiple group companies.
  • Lead month-end closings of multiple entities within the group and, if applicable, managed special purpose vehicles.
  • Putting together, verifying, and distributing monthly department and business unit financial performance reports to functional managers and business unit leaders.
  • Manage the development and implementation of new system functionalities and projects with other internal departments and external service providers.
  • Coordinate work and interface with external auditors.
  • Maintain high energy, a cooperative and positive attitude, and a great sense of humor.
  • Be an active member of the broad leadership of TrueAero Group, capable of fostering employee, systems, and business growth, by adhering to our company's high-level goals and values.
  • Other tasks and projects as directed by management.
