About The Position

The Buyer I supports the purchasing function by executing purchase orders, managing routine material requisitions, and coordinating with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and supplies. This entry-level role focuses on transactional buying and supporting production through accurate procurement of raw materials, hardware, laminates, veneers, and other millwork components. An individual in this position must be able to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed above. Nice To Haves

• Associate degree or equivalent experience in supply chain, business, or related field.
• 0–2 years purchasing experience (manufacturing or construction preferred).
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic knowledge of materials used in millwork (hardware, sheet goods, laminates, etc.) preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders in accordance with company policies.
• Obtain quotes from approved suppliers and compare pricing, lead times, and delivery terms.
• Maintain accurate data in ERP/MRP system (e.g., Epicor, JobBoss, or similar).
• Track order confirmations, delivery schedules, and resolve discrepancies.
• Communicate with Production and Engineering regarding delivery schedules and substitutions.
• Support Materials Department with vendor follow-up, expediting, and documentation.
• Maintain accurate purchasing and vendor records.
• Assist with inventory control and cycle counting activities.
