About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY:
Independent buyer responsible for managing assigned commodities, suppliers, or OSP categories. Emphasis on cost, delivery performance, supplier relationships, and problem resolution.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Independently manages purchasing for assigned areas
Negotiates pricing, lead times, and terms within authority
Makes sourcing recommendations
Resolves supplier and delivery issues proactively
Manage end-to-end purchasing for assigned commodities or suppliers
Lead RFQs and evaluate supplier cost, quality, and lead time
Negotiate pricing and delivery terms to meet business needs
Monitor supplier performance and recommend corrective actions
Partner with planning, production, quality, and engineering
Support cost-savings, supplier consolidation, and CI initiatives
Ensure compliance with ITAR, AS9100, and customer requirements
Mentor Buyer I or provide functional guidance as needed
Support audits and documentation requests

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent experience)
• 3–6 years purchasing experience in manufacturing
• Aerospace, defense, metal, or regulated manufacturing preferred
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills
• Problem-solving and decision-making
• Cross-functional influence
• Ability to manage competing priorities independently
