About The Position

Performs transactions and coordinates internal and external activities related to the procurement and distribution of parts, equipment and materials to assure 100% material support of department manufacturing and sales plans. Responsible for maintaining vendor relations, reviewing and processing requisitions, authorizing payments to vendors (within JBT Marel’s Global Authority Matrix) and participating in the supplier evaluation process. Analyze MRP/APS outputs and other sources of purchased part demand for completeness. Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for parts, equipment and services accordingly. Effectively monitor supplier performance to deliver on time to the internal customer satisfaction and to satisfy overall delivery to external customers. Ensure proof of shipment for vendor drop shipments are provided in a timely manner. Manage day-to-day supplier relationships, enforce prices and other commercial terms for the benefit of JBT Marel. Participate in cost savings projects supporting PNA and central teams in deployment of new suppliers, parts and processes, manages the Engineering Change Notification process for purchased items. Monitors past due levels from suppliers and work with them to minimize risk. Monitors projects and exception reports to identify part availability issues and communicates to all parties involved. Works with operations leadership to identify stock outs and work with vendors to expedite deliveries when required. Works with supply base to align gaps to better service customers. Interact with Accounts Payable to ensure all backup documents have been provided and invoices approved to ensure suppliers are paid according to terms. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or business administration. Equivalent Purchasing/Supply Chain experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Buyer in a manufacturing environment
  • Must have experience with and a thorough understanding of; MRP, Purchasing, Supplier negotiation, ERP systems, and Materials/Inventory Management
  • Deadline driven.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • In‐depth knowledge of ERP or MRP software preferred.
