About The Position

The basic function of the position of Buyer is purchasing and inventory control functions to obtain optimum efficiency and effectiveness of operations and maximize profits while meeting budgetary, safety and legal concerns.

Requirements

AS Business Management/Manufacturing Technology
2 years of Purchasing
Computer Software: MRP System
Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point)
Knowledge of TS16949 standards that apply
Inventory Control/Scheduling
This position requires the ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time; ability to stoop, squat, and climb stairs and ladders; ability to lift 40 pounds; ability of eyesight and hearing (corrected). Communication using hand held radio is required.
This position requires the physical dexterity and ability to navigate around office area, warehouse, manufacturing equipment and around a crowded and busy working area.
This position requires excellent math skills and accuracy to include cost-benefit analysis, budgets and other associated areas.
This position requires the ability to read, write, and speak English. Must write legibly. Must be able to communicate with others.
This position requires team-oriented approach to interface with internal and external customers; the ability to communicate with and maintain interpersonal skills with all members of the organization.

Nice To Haves

BS/MS/MBA in Business Management, Manufacturing Technology
3 – 5 years Purchasing in automotive plastic injection molding or related plastics field

Purchase MRP Items
Verify order Confirmation
Manage Past Due receipts and delivery Confirmation
Recommend min/max changes based on production demand
Plastic Scrap Recycling and reconciliation
Cardboard Scrap Recycling both facilities
Orders for Engineering Requests
Maintain and monitor 5S
Participate in job related training, in-house training, and position certifications
Actively support company and OSHA safety requirements as well as manage subordinates in conjunction with the requirements
