About The Position

This position supports the operation of the Mobile Health Unit by safely driving the unit, promoting community mobile health events, and engaging with clients. Responsibilities include providing operational support such as registering clients in the EMR, entering vaccination data into DelVax, and connecting clients to services offered through community-based organizations and Public Health Clinics. Incumbents will receive training to perform Cholestech screenings, blood lead testing, and rapid HIV testing. The role also requires the safe operation of various equipment, including a 36-foot RV-style Mobile Health Unit, hand trucks, and dollies used to transport and distribute supplies and materials. Additionally, incumbents will be trained and certified as Community Health Workers. This position is designated as having a State Health Operations Center (SHOC) role. The employee may be called upon to perform functions pertinent to any particular emergency. This includes but not limited to, coming to the work site (or an alternate work site) when other state offices are closed to perform emergency work functions at the request of the Supervisor, Section Chief, Deputy Director or Director.

Requirements

  • Six months experience in program monitoring such as monitoring program activities and recommending alternatives, improvements, courses of action, and other changes based on findings.
  • Six months experience in screening and detecting communicable or chronic diseases/health hazards to control the spread of diseases/hazards.
  • Six months experience in interpreting laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Six months experience in narrative report writing.
  • Knowledge of etiology of communicable or chronic diseases/health hazards.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).
