About The Position

AMD is seeking a skilled C++ Software Engineer who is passionate about advancing GPU Modeling and algorithm design for AMD's next-generation IP solutions. As a member of the Radeon Technologies Group, you will develop functional models and collaborate closely with architecture, IP design, and core verification teams to achieve first-pass silicon success. This role involves implementing new features, troubleshooting issues, and designing solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience with object-oriented design and possess low-level hardware knowledge of the graphics pipeline. A successful candidate will collaborate with senior design engineers and architects. Candidates should be highly accurate, detail-oriented, and team players with good communication and problem-solving skills. A willingness to learn and quickly grasp new concepts is advantageous as the team utilizes software languages to model hardware behavior.

Requirements

  • Proven, hands-on experience in object-oriented programming using C/C++.
  • Familiarity with advanced text editors and IDEs.
  • Good understanding of computer organization and architecture.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.

Nice To Haves

  • Graphics / GPU knowledge.
  • Hardware design knowledge: working close to hardware concepts.
  • Low-level programming a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the development of C/C++ simulation models for silicon architecture, algorithm evaluation, performance analysis, and hardware verification.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as HW/SW Co-design, RTL design, verification, emulation, post-silicon validation, firmware, and software development to build ASIC architecture and simulation models. Ensure rapid deployment and first-pass silicon success.
  • Develop and debug complex code within a large-scale codebase and version control systems.
