About The Position
The JW Marriott Nashville Hotel offers the ideal location for leisure, business and meeting guests in the heart of downtown Nashville, adjacent to the state-of-the-art Music City Center. The first-to-market JW Marriott property includes 533 guestrooms, inclusive of 37 suites, along with a broad array of amenities. The 33-story hotel features 50,000 square feet of indoor function space, an expansive 10,000 square-foot outdoor pool and lounging deck overlooking the city skyline, Bourbon Steak by Michael Mina, as well as a 15,000 square foot event lawn. The Pool Host is responsible for assisting all guests at the Cabana Club with towels, chair covers, seating, and requests courteously and efficiently, according to hotel standards.
Requirements
- Ability to speak, read, write and understand English
- Professional demeanor appropriate for a luxury environment
- Must have a flexible schedule with the ability to work all shifts including weekends and holidays
Nice To Haves
- Prior pool or beach attendant experience preferred, but not required
Responsibilities
- Ensure the pool deck is swept and watered down and that all furniture is in the correct place when setting up in the morning
- Greet all guests upon arrival, distribute towels, offer assistance with seating, and delivering consistent guest service, exceeding guest expectations, and providing all other supporting services
- Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests
- Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas including; stocking of supplies, folding napkins, cleaning menus, sanitizing tables, etc.
- Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of pool deck and facilities including straightening and stacking chairs, collecting soiled towels and trash, moving chairs, collecting towels, and tidying up cabanas
- Obtain clean towels and transport to pool; fold and stack towels
- Ensure all pool deck furniture is straight and organized, including cabanas
- Check all lounges for need of repairs, mark them, and report them to Engineering
