About The Position

This is going to be supporting different projects in the San Antonio area. 2 projects on the west side, 1 near the Rim and 1 in Kerrville. Looking for hard working individuals. Perform pre-termination procedures: organize, form, dress cables and determine length, slack, and label cables. Suspend and support cable correctly: Cable tray, J-hook, D-rings, Bridal rings, Trapeze. Build closets (Mount and install backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic and hardware). Install grounding for racks, equipment and cable as required. 1. Experience pulling Fiber Optic Cable 2. Experience testing Fluke 3. Experience terminating copper and Fiber 4. Experience "dressing" cable is a plus The Low Voltage Technician will install a work area outlet for floor or wall (terminate CAT 3 & CAT 5 jacks. Mount face plates and surface mount boxes correctly. Adhere to IES COMMERCIAL labeling standards). The Low Voltage Technician will build closets (Mount and install backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic and hardware). Install grounding for racks, equipment and cable as required. Complete all IDC connections (e.g. terminate 110/66 blocks and patch panels). The Low Voltage TechnicianI performs testing: continuity test horizontal and riser cable; use of volt-ohmmeter; troubleshoot opens, crosses, shorts and transpose pairs on horizontal and riser cable; use a tone set. The Low Voltage Technician will identify active voice or data circuits. The Low Voltage Technician will assume responsibility for effective performance of crew and provide necessary training, coordinate personnel and timeline to complete project. The Low Voltage Technician will fully complete all IES COMMERCIAL paperwork accurately and on time (timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, tool transfers and others as required). The Low Voltage Technician will adhere to and participate in all Company, customer and industry quality and safety standards and regulations. The Low Voltage Technician will complete other responsibilities as assigned.

  • be able to see and distinguish different colors, read small print and hear and recognize audible signals such as dial tones
  • be able to travel within the branch territory and/or regional territory as needed
