We provide civil/site design and land surveying, environmental, geotechnical, construction administration & inspection, accident reconstruction, roofing/building envelope, A/V system design, troubleshooting & installation, transportation design (bridge/roadway), and specialized testing services to the construction industry. We are looking for CAD Technicians who will play a key role in Civil and Site Design projects for state (WVDOH), county, federal, local and private Clients - including roadway/bridge design, site design for industrial/large commercial projects, mine reclamation, water/wastewater, residential, and municipal utility/infrastructure sectors. This position will use experience while learning new skills to assist clients through our cross-functional team dynamic and company culture. Requirements
- Associate degree or Bachelors in Drafting and Design Technology preferred; or High school diploma and a minimum of two (2) years’ experience performing AutoCADD drafting work in a professional setting; or Equivalent education, experience and training that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Knowledge of civil engineering basics including sheet organization, topographical data, scales, and coordinate systems.
- Experience developing and working with grading plans, cross-sections, alignments, profiles, three-dimensional surfaces, and earthwork volumes for landfills and other large civil design projects.
- Experience using/incorporating land or aerial surveying/mapping data and files.
- Experience using the latest releases of Autodesk AutoCAD is required.
- Strong reasoning, mathematical, and geometrical skills.
- Ability to perform basic math skills including applying concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations, and fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret red line drawings from Engineers, CAD Managers, or others on the project team.
- Strong communication skills to include the ability to understand and follow complex verbal and written instructions, and the ability to interact effectively to maintain a team environment.
- Ability to provide status updates independently.
- Be quality-minded and client-focused.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with stormwater management is a plus.
- Experience in Civil3d is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Draft, edit, & finalize technical drawings for civil and site design projects
- Transfer information from an engineering drawing to a final CAD drawing using appropriate symbols and drafting standards
- Analyze sketches, notes and other input material to determine best approach to complete drawings
- Copy detailed plans and drawings and perform non-routine complex drafting assignments
- Operate plotter, printer, scanner, and other input/output devices
- Proofread CAD drawings for accuracy, format, and grammar
- Collaborate to improve CAD standards and efficiencies across the company
- Work collaboratively with Engineers and Project Managers to prepare design drawings and details
- Review completed work products to ensure quality
