A Brief Overview The incumbent will follow proper procedures cleaning and sanitizing tables, microwaves, and countertops throughout the cafeteria and dining area. He/she will protect food quality by following operational procedures for cleaning, sanitizing, and infection control.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma Preferred
  • less than 1 year Food Service Preferred
  • Knowledge of basic hygiene principles. (High proficiency)
  • Knowledge of basic infection control policies and procedures. (Medium proficiency)
  • Skill in customer relations and service recovery. (Medium proficiency)
  • Knowledge of basic hygiene and infection control principles. (Low proficiency)
  • Ability to assess acceptable food quality. (Low proficiency)
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. (Low proficiency)
  • Ability to work closely with professional staff. (Medium proficiency)
  • Ability to promote a positive dining experience. (High proficiency)
  • Food Handlers within 180 Days Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Cleans and maintains optimal environment of cafeteria, dining space, and kitchen areas as indicated.
  • Supports patient care and customer service by responding to requests for trash removal throughout the food service department.
  • Promotes safety of self and others with appropriate use of personal protective equipment.
  • Performs duties with awareness and attention to service excellence and the “first impression” impact.
  • Participates in quality patient/customer service with active participation in review of performance to pre-established criteria and following corrective action plans for improvement.
  • Demonstrates and abides by Core Values and operating principles.
  • Assists in the preparation of food.
  • Cleans and maintains dining room and kitchen facilities.
  • Operates dish-washing equipment.
  • Cleans and checks service equipment.
  • Fills salt, pepper and napkin dispensers after each meal.
  • Assists in moving and storing supplies.
  • Works within established safety guidelines.
  • Attends required staff training sessions
  • Maintains accountability of staff, students, and property, adheres to safety practices in all areas of responsibility.
  • Cultivates and maintains a climate on center that is free of harassment, intimidation and disrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
