Summary: The Cage Supervisor provides direct supervision of all cage/cash operations employees, and ensures the security of company funds. Sets up credit and check cashing accounts for patrons, issues cashier banks, investigates variances, and ensures compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulations as they pertain to the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission and KRM Wagering, LLC. Directly supervises up to 10 employees per shift. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and discipline employees; addressing complaints and resolving guest and employee issues. Ordering supplies, maintaining logs, and scheduling employees as needed. Additional duties may be assigned as needed. Meet deadlines and maintain proper documentation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous cash handling experience is required
  • Minimum of 1 year bank teller/cage experience
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Strong mathematical skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Must have advance computer capabilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to speak English required, Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide to ensure proper payouts are being paid out correctly. Ability to compute tax rate for jackpot payouts.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of employees and guest.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
  • Must possess intermediate PC skills, spreadsheets, internet and e-mail.
  • Microsoft Office experience required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate licensing from the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission.
  • Candidate must be able to discipline subordinates when necessary when acting as a supervisor.
  • The employee will be required to stand, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods of time.
  • Candidate must be able to ascend and descend stairs.
  • Employee must have excellent dexterity of hands and fingers to use computers and handle vouchers, cash and cash equivalents.
  • Employee is required to lift and carry up to 15 lbs.
  • Employee must be able to talk and hear to ensure proper communication.
  • This job requires strong vision skills, including close vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
  • Candidate will work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • All persons must be (18) years of age.

Nice To Haves

  • Supervisory experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software, including Microsoft Excel and Word preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in ensuring accuracy of jackpot payouts and related safekeeping deposits and withdrawals.
  • Monitor cash levels in all Cage locations.
  • Supervise large payouts by cashiers.
  • Make recommendations for changes to policies and procedures in order to improve efficiencies.
  • Document attendance and variances and work in conjunction with the other Cage Supervisors or Cage/Count Manager to review employee files and prepare corrective action documentation.
  • Complete daily cash accountability logs, give performance feedback and employee disciplinary actions.
  • Prepare cashier transfers, ensure that accurate paperwork is completed for all functions of the position including end of shift balancing of cashier windows and cage.
  • Ensures compliance with Title 31.
  • Ensure preventative maintenance is performed on equipment in the Cage.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all wagering operations data.
  • Responsible for informing Cage/Count Manager of all incidents or disputes related to patrons, employees and inter-departmental issues.
