About The Position

You will be joining one of the World's best Camera Design Solutions IP teams that delivers the Spectra ISP to various Snapdragon SoCs. You will work on developing implementation infrastructure for Camera IP delivered to various SoCs. You will be responsible for various functions from RTL integration through physical design. As a member of the Camera team, the successful applicant will help integrate, implement, and develop state of the art Camera cores and will be working closely with the Camera development and physical design teams. The successful candidate will possess understanding of ASIC design flow and the challenges posed by advanced deep sub-micron technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.

  • Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
  • OR
  • PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in programming (e.g., C, C++, Python), computer architecture, or embedded systems.
  • 3+ years of experience in Image Signal Processing design, development, implementation, and verification.
  • 2+ years of experience in camera hardware or systems design and optimization.
  • 1+ year of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Direct level and above).
  • 1+ year in a technical leadership role with or without direct reports.

Responsibilities

  • Leverages advanced Camera Engineering knowledge to research, design, develop, verify, debug, implement, and/or validate complex camera systems, HW or FW tasks (including Camera Image Signal Processor, 3A, Image Quality, Features, and Tuning Tools), algorithms, features, logic design, modeling, design verification, and power optimization.
  • Performs architecture, IQ modules, algorithm, and feature decomposition to drive complex requirements and specifications for hardware development.
  • Ensures advanced image quality, system performance, and ISP area and power metrics are met.
  • Addresses customer/product requirements in functionality and results.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and optimize camera systems, hardware, and/or software.
  • Writes detailed technical documentation and feature descriptions for complex Camera projects to guide users and/or customers to implement output.
  • RTL to GDS2 flow, tools and methodologies such as synthesis, static timing analysis, formal verification, physical design and ECO generation/verification
  • Implementation and delivery of Camera cores from RTL to Netlist
  • Identify areas for flow and process improvements
  • RTL synthesis using physically aware tools
  • Formal Verification and Low Power verification using industry standard tools for RTL-netlist and netlist-netlist checks
  • Close design timing by running static timing analysis and constraints development at block and SoC Level
  • Generate and verify ECOs for functional and timing fixes, working closely with the physical design team
  • Low Power synthesis flows for multiple corners
  • Strong scripting skills to automate flows, improve productivity, and support analysis/debug (e.g., for synthesis, STA, ECO, and verification workflows)
