About The Position

We are hiring an Activity Director, Arts & Crafts to join our Beach Camp team. The Activity Director, Arts & Crafts will report to the Camp Director and will be responsible for designing, planning and executing a successful and fulfilling Camp’s Arts & Crafts program.

Requirements

  • Must have prior experience in visual arts, art education, or related creative fields
  • Certified Teacher or experience working with children
  • Strong organizational and classroom management skills
  • Ability to plan age-appropriate creative projects
  • Energetic, patient, and enthusiastic working with children
  • Must possess strong leadership skills, with an eye toward innovation

Responsibilities

  • Order necessary art supplies and equipment for six weeks of camp activities
  • Plan and implement engaging arts and crafts projects for campers ranging in ages from 5 years old to 10 years old
  • Teach and encourage creativity through various mediums such as painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media, and seasonal crafts
  • Create a safe, organized, and inspiring art space for campers
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and ensure proper clean-up and storage of materials
  • Support campers in developing fine motor skills, creativity, and self-expression
  • There will also be two pre-camp orientations to attend
  • Assist in other areas of daily camp operations, as needed
  • Must complete all team member orientations, trainings, and documents prior to start of Camp
  • Must be available for Camp’s six-week duration from June 30th to August 8th . There will be two orientation dates to take place prior to the start date of camp.
  • Presence at camp during camp operational hours, beginning Monday, June 29 until Friday, August 7, Monday–Friday. Typical camp hours being 9:00 am–2:30 pm, however starting times may vary according to the Camp Director’s discretion
  • Must have excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with team members, Counselors, Campers, parents and guardians
  • Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to plan and execute detailed and effective plans for the Camp Mindfulness program
  • Maintain a high level of visibility, ensuring availability to respond to team member, Camper, and parent/guardian inquiries
  • Working primarily in and around the designated Camp areas, both indoor and outdoor
