About The Position

Camp Arena Stage is dedicated to the personal and creative growth of its campers, by providing excellent arts instruction in a joyful, supportive community. Campers are empowered to choose their own schedule from over 50 classes in theater, dance, music, visual arts, filmmaking and writing. Camp Arena Stage brings together campers (ages 8-16) and professional artist-educators from diverse backgrounds to explore, discover and create art. WHAT YOU'LL DO The Extended Day Coordinator plans activities for campers participating in the 2-hour aftercare/extended day program. Applicant should be able to connect with students of different ages and plan and implement indoor and outdoor activities that make two extra hours at camp fun, safe, and varied. Applicant will work as part of a pair and will also interact with parents as campers leave at the end of the day and ensure that campers are released to the proper guardian safely. This role is Part-Time & Seasonal, 15 hours per week, July 6 -August 7, 2025, Monday-Friday, 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Camp Arena Stage is a day camp located on the campus of Georgetown Visitation (1524 35th St. NW, Washington, DC).

Requirements

  • Experience working with young people
  • Ability to plan fun age-appropriate activities that encourage creativity and skill building
  • Ability to create and maintain a safe, supportive environment and a positive group dynamic
  • Organization skills
  • Strong communication skills with parents/guardians and campers
  • If not already certified, the extended day coordinator will need to complete hybrid CPR/First Aid training on July 2 from 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
