About The Position

TBF Safety Implement, model and enforce Site Safety and Environmental Policies; ensure all personnel and visitors comply with requirements. Lead and participate in risk assessments. Fulfil assigned Incident Management or Emergency Response Team roles per the Ambler Crisis and Emergency Management Plan. Ensure personnel receive task ‑ appropriate training with documentation. Develop Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with team leads and managers. Identify, report, and address safety hazards; promote and model a culture of safe work practices. Encourage reporting of hazards, near misses, and incidents. Conduct daily toolbox meetings with Site Operations teams. Conduct weekly camp ‑ wide safety meetings. Assist with safety audits of project operations. Conduct and/or participate in incident investigations. Assist with baggage checks of incoming passengers to camp. Managerial Ensure camp operations comply with Ambler Metals Corporate Standards. Provide operational support to the Site Manager and UKMP management team. Support the Site Manager in achieving departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Model and maintain a culture of accountability and encourage timely reporting of hazards or deficiencies. Model and uphold a respectful workplace culture; intervene in and address any observed or reported incidents of harassment. Provide recommendations to the Site Manager to improve operations. Anticipate and plan camp needs to avoid delays. Approve and monitor work plans within the camp operations department. Recommend operational efficiencies, optimizations, and best practices. Ensure all personnel receive camp orientation, including rules and safety procedures. Address personnel performance concerns promptly and in accordance with policy. Assist with tracking, approving, and submitting employee time to payroll. Monitor contractor performance related to camp services and report deficiencies to the Site Manager. Manage daily inventory of fuel and other camp supplies. Work closely with Assistant Camp Managers to ensure tasks are prioritized and completed on time and within budget. Assist the Camp Administrative Assistants team with room assignments and check ‑ Clerical Oversee timely and accurate ordering of materials, ensuring appropriate quantities. Assist the Site Manager with invoice approvals. Maintain document control for inventory forms, JHAs, SOPs, and HAZMAT shipping records. Communication Work cooperatively with cross-functional teams (exploration, environmental, managers and contractors) to ensure integrated, safe and efficient operations. Immediately report all safety, environmental, personnel and security incidents to the appropriate department; ensure incident reports within scope are completed. Conduct daily management meetings. Provide the Site Manager with a daily summary of tasks completed, deficiencies, and safety observations. Coordinate and submit weekly reports to Ambler Metals leadership team and owners. Assist with communicating project updates to company stakeholders. Other Duties (if assigned) Assist in planning the field season Oversee site monitors Assist in interviewing and screening seasonal staff

Requirements

  • Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree in a field related to Site Operations or equivalent experience
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Knowledge of fuel handling regulations and procedures
  • Knowledge of and ability to carry out safe remote operational procedures
  • Proficient in and recent experience with the use of personal computers and MS Office Suite
  • Ability to complete formal reports, documents, and SOP's
  • Ability to deal tactfully with camp staff, contractors, and visitors
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to change
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, react appropriately, safely and with compassion in an emergency
  • Ability to follow instructions effectively and in a timely manner
  • Ability to work for long periods in a remote location
  • Ability to traverse uneven terrain
  • Ability to obtain CPR andfirst aid certificates
  • Ability to obtain OSHA certification
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience operating in remote mining or oil & gas camps, with experience in Alaska strongly preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience managing personnel
  • A minimum of 3 years managing helicopter and fixed wing operations
  • A minimum of 3 year working within a formal safety program at a Foreman or above level
  • Required to remain on-site throughout rotation; food and lodging is provided
  • Expected rotation is 20 days on site, 10 days off site inclusive of travel
  • Expected normal daily work hours are from 6:30am until 8:00pm
  • May be required to work in arctic conditions during the winter months
  • Exposure to inclement weather conditions (including snow, rain, wind as well as extremely warm or cold conditions) is common
  • Travel to site may be via small aircraft or boat. Travel on site and surrounding areas is by four-wheel drive and all-terrain vehicles and occasionally via helicopter
  • Able to traverse uneven terrain and work in remote camps and hars weather.
  • Able to travel by helicopter, fixed-wing plane, four-wheel drive, and ATV to and around site.
  • Physically capable of repeatedly lifting 35-50 pounds
