About The Position

Better World Group (BWG) seeks a Campaign Coordinator to lead and support advocacy campaigns advancing Clean Air, Transport and Climate Justice, Energy, and Rights of and Connection to Nature. The Campaign Coordinator will support national, statewide, and local coalitions, develop and implement campaign strategies, and ensure effective collaboration among partners. At BWG, the Campaign Coordinator position is equivalent in level to an Associate at the firm, with the same opportunities for professional development and advancement. This role is central to driving equitable, groundbreaking climate policies and transforming systems so that benefits, resources, and economic opportunities reach communities of color and Indigenous communities most impacted by environmental injustice. As Campaign Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to lead impactful campaigns in clean transportation, energy, conservation, and climate change, while advancing equity and environmental justice across diverse communities.

Requirements

  • Candidates must have a minimum of two years of full-time, relevant work experience in campaign coordination, grassroots organizing, or advocacy, including planning, executing, and evaluating campaign activities.
  • An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be accepted.
  • Candidates must possess skills in two or more of the following areas: Coordinating or supporting state or local policy campaigns and coalitions Managing coalitions of diverse stakeholders Campaigns or advocacy on one or more of the following issues: clean transportation, clean energy, industrial decarbonization, environmental justice, public lands, racial justice, climate change adaptation, climate resilience Experience conducting policy analysis/advocacy in one or more of the following areas: climate, energy, transportation, industry, or conservation analysis Facilitating coalition meetings or campaign strategy sessions
  • Successful candidates must possess: Strong critical and strategic thinking skills, with a detail-oriented and proactive approach to campaign planning and problem solving.
  • A growth mindset, openness to feedback, and commitment to professional development in campaign coordination and advocacy.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex campaign strategies and policy topics to diverse audiences.
  • Effective facilitation and coalition-building skills, including leading discussions, supporting collaborative decision-making, and fostering stakeholder engagement.
  • Demonstrated initiative and adaptability, with a willingness to learn and tackle new campaign challenges in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable using project management software (such as Productive.io or Asana)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and video conferencing platforms (Teams, Zoom)

Nice To Haves

  • Fluency in Spanish and experience working with communities of color are strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, social media platforms, and online design/web development tools (such as Squarespace or Canva) is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Coalition and Campaign Coordination Coordinate and collaborate with diverse stakeholders— including community organizations, labor unions, climate groups, and other partners— to build consensus and advance multi-sectoral climate policy initiatives.
  • Lead and support the development, planning, and implementation of advocacy campaigns focused on clean transportation, clean energy, conservation, climate, and environmental justice.
  • Navigate the dynamic nature of campaigns with strategic thinking, adaptability, and sound judgment— identifying opportunities and solutions as campaign objectives and processes evolve.
  • Demonstrate initiative in managing complexity and advancing campaign objectives even with limited information or changing circumstances.
  • Conduct direct advocacy with public officials including elected representatives, staff, and agency leaders through meetings, written communication, and in-person events.
  • Policy analysis and advocacy Support and coordinate efforts to advance policies related to clean transportation, clean energy, conservation, climate, and environmental justice.
  • Regularly engage with key partners, decision-makers, and networks to monitor emerging issues and policy solutions in the energy, equity, and environmental sectors.
  • Track and report on local, state, and national policy developments relevant to climate and environmental justice campaigns.
  • Research and Writing Conduct policy research to develop effective policy proposals and campaign messaging.
  • Draft talking points, public comments, and advocacy materials for legislative, regulatory, and campaign purposes.
  • Research and write memos, comment letters, and campaign communications.
  • Prepare presentations Project coordination Provide project coordination and logistical support for complex advocacy campaigns, coalitions, and special projects.
  • Assist in defining campaign and project scopes, setting milestones, managing timelines, and identifying necessary resources.
  • Coordinate internal teams and facilitate collaboration among colleagues to achieve campaign objectives.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key partners, decision-makers, and networks; represent BWG at external meetings and events as needed.
  • Other duties Contribute to a work environment and culture that is centered on equity and belonging Raise the visibility of climate and environmental justice issues impacting communities of color and Indigenous communities by creating content for newsletters, blogs, and social media campaigns.
  • Ability and willingness to travel, as needed, to meetings and conferences throughout the state and possibly other locations
