Under routine supervision, the Capacity Coordinator II is responsible for coordinating a mid-sized group of carriers and/or independently contracted drivers. This position ensures safe & timely service through the accurate planning, routing, monitoring, and delivery of freight and loads. The incumbent must be able to work any shift to satisfy the demand for flexibility in scheduling to ensure operational success. This includes but is not limited to, day shifts, night shifts, and weekend shifts. Schedule is Tuesday to Saturday, 1 p.m. to close (usually about 10 p.m.). Key Responsibilities: Build and maintain positive, professional, safe, and reliable relationships with carriers and/or independently contracted (IC) drivers to ensure seamless new carrier set-up, minimize turnover, and maximize ongoing productivity Optimize operations & maximize profitability through the understanding of key performance indicators Create, maintain, and present customer-specific reporting and financial analysis Manage inventory, assets, customer pools, and/or assignment of carriers and/or independent contracted drivers to balance equipment in the market Perform administrative duties such as payroll, management of the Net-Revenue budget, filing and documenting, resolving settlement issues, analyzing P&L statements, invoicing, and/or creating operational or financial reports Coordinate yard duties such as checking/inspecting equipment, and partnering with maintenance to ensure all regular preventative maintenance services are scheduled on time and all safety-related mechanical issues are fixed for account equipment (as required) Act as liaison between carriers and/or independently contracted drivers, customers, and company personnel to resolve service issues, routing and/or planning, mechanical problems, accessorial pay-related issues, etc. as they occur throughout the day and, where necessary, when on call Maintain the Company's safety culture by complying with external & internal regulations, policies, and procedures Assign loads and plan, route, and monitor freight movement to provide safe, on-time service and meet customer requirements, including managing exceptions based on pick-up and delivery schedules, and other environmental factors on the road Assist in training entry-level and other team members to ensure that they perform work duties in accordance with standards and protocols Assist on special projects related to optimizing operations and maximizing profitability
